Luxe Holiday Cards

December 6, 2015

Want your holiday card to stand out and impress this holiday season?  Follow these simple tips for sending out the most luxe holiday cards.

Start with a great photo

When was the last time you had professional family photos taken?  It’s been a while, huh?  And no, I’m not talking about photos at the local JCPenny or Sears studio.  Maybe it’s time to splurge this year and hire a professional to take “lifestyle” photos of your family at a location of your choice.  My husband and I own Eastport Photography so we actually took our own family photos this year using a tripod, a light and softbox on a light stand, and a trigger.  We decided on beautiful Windansea Beach in La Jolla for our perfect backdrop.

Use a high quality online company to print your cards

Once you’ve decided on the perfect photo, please don’t have your cards printed at CVS or Walmart on glossy photo paper.  That would be a holiday card fail.  Use a company such as Tiny Prints and make sure you’re having your cards printed on matte cardstock.  They have tons of templates to choose from to create just the right message and look.  Tiny prints is offering 30% off your order until 01/15/16.  Just use code PR3B4A7BC9.

Don’t forget about return address labels

So you have your luxe holiday cards printed and you’re stuffing them into envelopes.  Style doesn’t end there.  Put a nice return address label on your envelopes.  I ordered bold, round labels from Tiny Prints in black and gold for a chic look.

Finish off the envelope in style

If you don’t have pretty hand-writing, consider typing your family and friends’ addresses onto labels.  And choose pretty stamps, if possible to finish off your envelope.

Hope you enjoyed the tips for luxe holiday cards and happy holidays!
