Flora Farms in San Jose Del Cabo

July 8, 2017

Vintage red truck at Flora Farms in San Jose Del Cabo. While wandering around San Jose Del Cabo on a Thursday for Art Walk, we stumbled across a little shop filled with organic skin care products.  The sales associate explained that all the products were made at Flora Farms, about 15 minutes away.  She explained that they had a restaurant too, so the next afternoon, we made a reservation and headed there for lunch.  Flora Farms is accessible only by car and since we hadn’t rented one, we took a taxi.  The taxi took us down a bumpy dirt road in what seemed like the middle of nowhere.  But once we pulled up, the place was buzzing with activity and excitement.

The Restaurant – Flora’s Field Kitchen

Is there anything better than an organic farm to table experience where you can actually look out over the farm while dining?  Everything was perfect, starting with my refreshing “farmtini.”  The salad was made up of the most vibrantly colored vegetables, portion sizes were spot on, and dessert was the perfect ending to our meal.  All this, plus live instrumental music from an awesome band made for the best dining experience we had in Los Cabos.

The Farm Spa

Although I didn’t get a chance to indulge in the Farm Spa during this trip, I hope to get an Organic Skin Perfecting Spa Facial during my next trip.  If they use the same products that I saw in their San Jose Del Cabo store (and I’m sure they do), I’m certain it will be a healthy and relaxing experience.

The Shops

After lunch, we wandered around the property, which included a few shops with clothing, a shop with Mexican trinkets, and a wine and coffee bar.  The clothing shops had some beautiful pieces, but beware that prices were super expensive.

The Culinary Cottages

As it turns out, Flora Farms is surrounded by beautiful cottages that you can actually live in.  We had the opportunity to tour the model (sorry, photos were not allowed).  OMG, it was gorgeous!  The cottage had high ceilings, oversized windows, a glass door refrigerator, a vintage-inspired oven, hand-made furniture pieces, an outdoor fire pit, and a plunge pool (in progress).  The sales representative was not able to tell me the price for any of the cottages, but I can’t imagine luxury like that comes cheap, even in Mexico.

Flora Farms puts on events such as outdoor movie screenings with family friendly movies, painting classes, summer camps, spa workshops, and weddings.  Adam Levine actually got married here!  You can easily make a day of it.  Don’t miss this unique experience.
