I live in La Jolla, only steps from the ocean, but sometimes I just crave a pool day. And no, I don’t want a swim laps-kind of pool day at the public pool. I want the luxury and relaxation of a hotel or resort pool. So on my quest to find a day pass to hotel pools in La Jolla, I learned a couple of things. First, there’s a website dedicated to this. Day Axe allows you to book a day pass at luxury hotels in Southern California and enjoy all their amenities.
Day Pass to Hotel Pools in La Jolla – Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines
I used Day Axe to book my day pass to the Hilton La Jolla at Torrey Pines. With my pass I enjoyed the pool, the fitness center, and tennis. They even validated my parking. The day pass cost only $15. The Hilton La Jolla offers stunning views of their golf course, the ocean, and the hang gliders taking off from the Torrey Pines glider port. There’s a poolside menu and I was able to text my order in. 15 minutes later I was enjoying a Pina Colada and nachos. Talk about an awesome staycation.
Pool Day at the Estancia Resort La Jolla
The second thing I discovered on my quest for a day pass to hotel pools in La Jolla is that the Estancia Resort in La Jolla is very generous with its pool. If it’s not a busy day at the resort, they’ll allow locals to use the pool. They may or may not charge a small fee. The grounds of the Estancia are gorgeous, as is the pool area. My favorite thing about their pool is that they allow pool floats. I actually brought my own raft and floated around, completely undisturbed. On my way out, I stopped for a game of cornhole. Talk about luxury. This place had it.
You don’t need to stay overnight to enjoy the amenities of the hotels in La Jolla. Locals are welcome to enjoy as well! What better way to enjoy a staycation than with access to these fabulous, luxurious hotels.
