Baltimore is an active city offering something for everyone. Bursting at the seams with U.S. history, it is home to Fort McHenry, our national anthem, the Baltimore Orioles and the Ravens. Francis Scott Key wrote the poem while being held on a British ship until the enemy was finished bombing Fort McHenry. The Star Spangled Banner is a tribute to the attack on Fort McHenry and was inspired by the lone American flag that made it through the bombing and was being held up by American troops.
History buff or not, there are many ways to spend the day in the city while keeping your budget happy. The Inner Harbor is bustling with people and any time you can find street performers playing instruments, making balloon animals or painting faces. It is filled with restaurants, museums, Imax theatre, aquariums, a zoo, and parks.
